Five Women Bathing in Moonlight [ssaatb]
I was asked to compose the closing piece for the 2012 Five College Choral Festival at John M. Greene Hall in Northampton, MA. I choose a text by Amherst College alumnus, U.S. poet laureate (1987), twice winner of the Pulitzer prize, and valley resident Richard Wilbur. The experience was immensely fulfilling and culminated with the opportunity to conduct the combined choirs of the five colleges (450 voices) in the premiere on February 25, 2012.
